A unique opportunity for law students and new alumni to:

o   Work with experienced attorneys on real projects

o   Attend online & in-person Section meetings

What is the Fellows Program? Business Law Fellows:

o   Help Create Useful Content for Our Members – The Practicing Business Lawyers of Texas

o   Get to Work With Experienced (and Sometimes Prominent) Business Lawyers

o   Get to Network, Develop Referral Sources, Receive Peer-to-Peer Advice, Learn A Lot About How to Practice Law

 

Projects on Deck for ‘25-’26

o   Gather Collections of TX Cases on Business Topics, Determine Which Are Seminal, Write Case Notes on Those Cases

o   Monitor Cases Decided By the Texas Business Court and Write Case Notes

o   Research Projects With Drafters of Revised Texas Legal Opinions Report

o   Design and Learn Modern Legal Publishing

o   Field Articles on Practical Business Law

 

What is involved

o   BLFs Are Assigned A Discrete Project That Takes 5-6 Months to Complete.

o   BLFs Each Work On Their Own and Then With An Experienced Mentor to Craft Content.

o   BLFs Do Not Receive a Stipend But Are Invited to Section Meetings, Dinners and the Annual Retreat and Are Reimbursed for Travel Costs
